Contribution towards ‘Project Dialysis’ conducted by ‘Fairfax India Charitable Foundation’

CSB Bank joined hands with Fairfax India Charitable Foundation to be part of public charitable activities, by donating Rs. 1,81,50,000.00 for providing free/affordable, quality dialysis services to renal patients in various parts of India where the services are limited/non-existent for dialysis infrastructure. Via Project Dialysis, the exorbitant dialysis cost at Rs. 2.4 lakhs per year, which escalates significantly in remote locations due to factors such as transportation of patient, accompanying family member, loss of earning hours etc. is mitigated and the acute demand-supply imbalance regarding dialysis slots is addressed. Project Dialysis facilitates access to free/subsidized dialysis closer to home at rural India which also caters to BPL patients & HIV/HCV/HBV infected kidney failure patients, enables savings on Dialysis cost for patients and Government, fosters public private partnership, offers employment for local doctors and paramedics at district level and establishes medical treatment infrastructure at district hospitals catering to large rural population. The project has so far provided 33,365 free dialysis sessions across 5 districts, with 30 Dialysis Centres being supported and 348 patients positively impacted.

Supporting housing, education, special medical care and vocational training to children/adults with disabilities carried out by ‘Families for Children’

‘Families for Children’ (“FFC”) is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that exists to fulfill the needs of children and young adults with physical/mental disabilities. FFC extends rehabilitation/ care facility to 202 children and has a large Special Care Centre for young adults who are mentally and/or physically handicapped. FFC offers vocational training for destitute women and certain of the older children who have not made it through the regular school system.CSB Bank has supported the organization during the FY 2022-23 by providing financial aid of Rs. 90 lakhs over a period of 5 months for providing housing, education, special medical care and vocational training to children and young adults with physical and/or mental disabilities.

Supporting rehabilitation, training and therapy of mentally disabled carried out by ‘Liza’s Home’

Liza’s Home is a centre for the care and rehabilitation of intellectually and physically challenged women regardless of their language, caste and religion. These women come from socio-economically deprived backgrounds. Liza’s Home provides love, care, empathy and security in an atmosphere of fun and frolic. The staff and members create handicraft items, tailored and knitted items, pickles, juices and wines. The garden at the Home provides a healthy green environment and organic vegetables and fruits. Recycled water and rainwater harvesting provides an eco-friendly environment.The contribution of Rs. 5 lakhs by the Bank to Liza’s Home was utilised for providing care and rehabilitation for differently abled adult women.

Supporting education project conducted by Thuvakkam Welfare Association

CSB Bank has contributed Rs. 68.25 lakhs towards project ‘Sponsor for Success – Education Funding Initiative’ conducted by ‘Thuvakkam Welfare Association’, a Non-Governmental Organisation working towards the betterment of society. The project is designed to support kids from economically backward families to get a quality education that will enable them to support themselves and their families financially. Bright young minds who require financial support to carry on their studies are handpicked by the team and are supported. These children are either high schoolers or degree holders of their families who need support to get a footing in society. The project strives to provide financial help to school and college students, continues support for those who benefit from the Fund, campaign for and promote the interests of young people coming out of care and celebrate their achievements and works in partnership with other stakeholders, including former beneficiaries to achieve these objectives.
